We're now the Mid-America Freight Coalition

Ernie Perry

In the Summer of 2010, the AASHTO Mississippi Valley Conference (MVC) changed its name to the Mid-America Association of State Transportation Officials (MAASTO) to more accurately reflect the needs and concerns of its constituents.
Today, the members of the Mississippi Valley Freight Coalition (MVFC) Technical Committee voted to formally change the name of the coalition to the Mid-America Freight Coalition (MAFC) in order to be consistent with the naming of the AASHTO region.
The mission of the MAFC won’t change—we’re still focused on the planning, operation, preservation, and improvement of freight transportation infrastructure and networks in the coalition’s ten member states.
For more information, consult the press release.
Note: In the coming weeks, we’ll be updating this website (including the domain name), as well as other coalition materials. We’ll make this transition as smooth and seamless as possible. If you have questions about this transition, please email cfire@engr.wisc.edu.
