This region includes ten states (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.dot.state.il.us\/\">Illinois<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.in.gov\/indot\/\">Indiana<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.iowadot.gov\/\">Iowa<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ksdot.org\/\">Kansas<\/a> , <a href=\"http:\/\/www.transportation.ky.gov\/default2.html\">Kentucky<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.michigan.gov\/mdot\">Michigan<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dot.state.mn.us\/\">Minnesota<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.modot.org\/\">Missouri<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dot.state.oh.us\/Pages\/Home.aspx\">Ohio<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dot.state.wi.us\/\">Wisconsin<\/a>) that share key interstate corridors, inland waterways, and the Great Lakes. These ten state have signed a Memorandum of Understanding in October 2006, demonstrating their willingness to meet freight demand through regional cooperative efforts. The MAFC is built upon the work of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/wwwtest.midamericafreight.org\/index.php\/rfs\/upper-midwest-freight-corridor-study\/\">Upper Midwest Freight Corridor Study<\/a>\u00a0(UMFCS).<\/p>\n<p>The Mid-America Freight Coalition was formerly known as the Mississippi Valley Freight Coalition.
